A stunning antique table and 6 chairs, originally from a chateau in Huelgoat, north-western France. We believe this dates back to the early 20th century and the level of detail on the table base and chairs backs in particular is fantastic, featuring carved wooden legs and decorative detailing that really sets it apart as a unique vintage item. The dining chairs also have a rush seat that has some light signs of wear (see photos), otherwise the chair seats are still intact and in very good condition.
The dining table has two leaves at either end which can be pulled out to extend the table to a total length of 241.5cm, so perfect for big family gatherings! Please note that it will take 2 people to extend and then push the leaves back in again, as the main table top section is best removed in order to do this, and due to the table's age it requires a bit of effort to pull / push the sections back in place.
Additionally, there are some marks and scratches to the table top and chairs (see photos for close-ups), and you will also notice that the extending leaves are a darker wood tone than the main table top section - most likely a result of the table being placed in a room close to a window, whilst the extending sections have remained tucked away. However, the table and chairs are in great condition overall and extremely solid, so plenty of life left in them for many years to come.
