Antique Victorian Pine Blanket Chest / Storage Box – Circa 1880–1900

A lovely antique Victorian pine blanket chest dating from the late 19th century, circa 1880–1900.
A wonderfully practical and characterful piece of old pine furniture, retaining its warm natural honey-coloured timber and plenty of authentic signs of age and use.
The chest features a large hinged lift-up lid providing a generous internal storage compartment, making it ideal for blankets, bedding, clothing, toys or general household storage.
The exterior has a simple traditional design with a raised moulded base and substantial pine boards throughout. The chest also retains its old metal fittings and lock.
The timber has developed a lovely colour over the years, with numerous old marks, knocks, scratches and areas of wear which add to its genuine antique character.
It would make a particularly useful addition to a bedroom, living room or hallway and could also be used as a decorative storage chest or blanket box.

Good solid antique condition commensurate with age and previous use. The chest has numerous old marks, scratches, knocks, dents and areas of wear throughout, along with some old splits and imperfections to the timber.
