A beautiful antique English oak bedside cabinet dating from around the turn of the 20th century, circa 1900–1910.

This is a particularly attractive example, featuring wonderfully figured oak with a lovely warm golden-brown colour and plenty of natural character.

The cabinet has a decorative raised gallery to the rear of the top, with shaped and carved detailing, giving it a more distinctive appearance than the simpler pot cupboards of the period.

The front features a traditional two-panelled door with attractive moulded detailing and an original-style decorative brass handle and escutcheon.

The cupboard opens to reveal two useful internal shelves, providing plenty of storage for books, toiletries and other bedside essentials.

Although traditionally described as a pot cupboard, this piece makes an excellent bedside cabinet and could also be used as a small occasional cupboard, lamp table or storage cabinet elsewhere in the home.
