Storming the fort in a seaside town!

Storming the fort in a seaside town!

A new bar in progress

This month we have been delivering furniture to the Fort Perch Rock in the busy seaside town of New Brighton on the Wirral.

Fort Perch Rock

Built-in the 1920s to defend the port of  Liverpool from overseas attacks and armed with 18 cannons, some of which are still in existence and can be seen on the battlements today. The Fort was nicknamed 'Little Gibraltar of the Mersey' and was built on an area called Black Rock which was completely surrounded by water at high tides.

New Brighton

Today with the coastal reclamation the Fort is accessible at any time, and will soon be home to a new bar with indoor and outdoor seating.  Set within the red sandstone walls in a Cavern like room overlooking the courtyard which houses all sorts of maritime memorabilia including a Titanic room and a statue of 3 men representing smugglers as the seaside town was once home to many pirates who hid their bounty within the hidden tunnels that span underground from New Brighton beach to the local areas.

Across the Mersey

The area surrounding the fort has many bars, restaurants, shops, ice cream parlours, fish and chip bars and a cinema. There are also some of the most beautiful beaches and coastal walks in Britain and the view of the Liverpool skyline is breath-taking. This all makes New Brighton one of the must see places to visit in Merseyside.

Escape rooms

Soon there will also be an escape room concept called "Escape the Fort" for those who dare to enter !!

Back to the Future

Along with the escape rooms and bar, the Fort will house live music, classic cars and many other fun activities throughout the yeas to come.

Recently the Back to the Future Delorean DMC-12  car along with the Doc was in town to promote the upcoming attractions !!
